Frequently Asked Questions

What's the purpose?

To give students the knowledge and experience that they need to get plugged in with other churches and ministries. To reveal the talents that God has given them and get them to start using them to glorify God.

What's the vision?

To provide training in all areas of ministry to students in Elementary, Middle School, Jr. and Sr. High, as well as those in college, in careers and in retirement.

We want to provide training in Worship, Drama and Choir Ministry, Photo and Video Production, Sound Tech, Lights, Graphic, and Web Design, Recording, Songwriting, Art, Hospitality and Outreach, and any other ministry that can spread the gospel and give glory to God.

What age do you have to be to sign up for WorshipArts?

We are currently teaching students 8 years old to seniors in high school. Older students are encouraged to volunteer and glean as much as they can. Younger students are encouraged to hang on a few more years!

What programs do you offer?

We are rapidly expanding our programs as more students and teachers get involved. This Fall we will begin our sixth season of worship training, and our second season of drama teams, photography and beginnings (ages 8-12) worship teams. We are also beginning a video production team and a message team.

Surely you have more programs than that.

Well, we also do a Festival in the summer, a week-long day-camp afterwards, and in the Winter we do 6 week-long songwriting and recording intensives.

How much knowledge do students have to have before they start WorshipArts?

Students signing up for Worship Teams on an instrument need to have a very basic understanding of how to play chords. Vocals, and all other programs do not need any prior knowledge. If you're unsure about your level of knowledge, send me an Email and I can meet with you. Also, private lessons are available that compliment worship training very well.

Where do you meet?

WorshipArts meets at local church buildings. Right now we meet at New Day Community Church in Kalamazoo, The Iglesia in Downtown Kalamazoo, and The Gathering Place Church in Paw Paw.

How long do Seasons/Semesters run?

Usually our seasons are 3-4 months long. Usually starting last week in August until the first week in December, and then starting again in the beginning of January until the second week in April.

What is tuition like? How often is it due?

Tuition is 4 payments of 60 dollars that covers any track a student wants to participate in. They can sign up for as many programs as they want for no additional charge. Beginnings Worship Teams are half that cost. Tuition is due at the first practice of the month.

What is my student expected to bring?

Students in all tracks must bring a three ring binder to rehearsals. Also, for worship teams bringing your instrument, Bible, pencil and paper is a must. Photography students should bring their camera.

Is WorshipArts affiliated with "______________?"

Nope, WorshipArts is an independent company not affiliated with and church, denomination, or organization. It is an educational business owned by Peter Webb. We do have friendships with churches and businesses that we've worked with to bring better experiences to our students.

Do you have a degree/certification/credentials?

I am working on my BA in Music and Associates in Worship Arts. Also, I've been teaching for about 6 years, I've had over 60 students, and you can talk to any of my past or current students or their parents to verify the quality of teaching.

How do I get involved with teaching or other volunteering?

WorshipArts is always excited to get more people plugged in! We're looking for anyone out of high school who has a passion for worship. Don't worry, you don't have to be a musician, just a Christian seeking to honor God in everything you do. We want people to come in and have a relationship with the students that influences them in a Godly way. How to get started? First, shoot us an Email. This can get the dialoge rolling and we can figure out the best way to plug you in! We have a lot of areas that could use extra hands. From taking attendance at practices to helping the 8-12 year olds in our beginnings worship teams to helping our worship students with their weekly assignments, there are many places to get connected!
